The Controsortilegi — fragments of an imploded star

Personal Structures – Confluences 2026 opens on May 9th at Palazzo Mora, Venice, and with it, Anima Mundi takes shape in the exhibition space.

The one hundred and twenty canvases of the Controsortilegi rest upon the walls as independent microcosms — fragments of an imploded star that, even in dispersion, retain the energy of the whole. Alongside them, the video Anima Mundi offers an unceasing flow of sounds and chromatic shifts, with an irregular, mutable rhythm unfolding in constant becoming.

«The canvases project the viewer toward other worlds — toward distant seas and dawns, unknown sunsets that feel more necessary than ever in a complex contemporary time, where imagining elsewhere and the other becomes increasingly difficult.»
